PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) is a versatile polymer formed by the copolymerization of ethylene and vinyl acetate (with VA content ranging from 5% to 40%). It emits no irritating odor when burned, and its properties vary with VA content: higher VA content increases transparency, softness, and toughness. Different polymerization processes are employed based on VA content: high-pressure bulk polymerization (for plastic products) is used for VA content below 30%, while emulsion polymerization (for adhesives) is employed for VA content above 30%. Additionally, solution polymerization (for PVC processing aids) and suspension polymerization are utilized. By adjusting the VA ratio, EVA can meet diverse application requirements such as films, footwear materials, hot-melt adhesives, and cable sheathing, making it a high-performance polymer material with excellent flexibility and processing capabilities.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
oil field
As a crude oil wax inhibitor and flow point improver: Due to the oil soluble ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer having chain links similar to paraffin structure, a network structure can be formed throughout the entire crude oil at very low concentrations, causing paraffin to precipitate under the network structure and separate from each other, making it difficult to aggregate and grow, and also difficult to deposit on the pipe wall, thereby reducing the freezing point of crude oil.
Used for selective water plugging in oil wells: The oil solution of thermoplastic ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer can be used for deep well water plugging with high temperature and large water output. In the oil reservoir, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer dissolves in the oil and can flow back with the oil flow; In the water layer, it is insoluble in water and will precipitate highly viscous substances when in contact with water, causing great resistance to the water and blocking the water flow channels.
Foam shoe material
Due to its softness, good elasticity, and chemical corrosion resistance, EVA resin blended foam products are widely used in the sole and interior materials of mid to high end travel shoes, hiking shoes, slippers, and sandals. The vinyl acetate content of EVA resin used in shoe materials is generally between 15% and 22%. In addition, this material is also used in the fields of soundproofing boards, gymnastics mats, and sealing materials.
thin film
The main use of EVA film is to produce functional greenhouse film. Functional greenhouse film has high weather resistance, anti fog droplet and insulation performance. Due to the non polarity of polyethylene, even with a certain amount of anti fog droplet agent added, its anti fog droplet performance can only be maintained for about 2 months; The greenhouse film made by adding a certain amount of EVA resin not only has high light transmittance, but also has significantly improved anti fog performance, which can generally exceed 4 months. In addition, EVA can also be used for the production of packaging films, medical films, laminated films, casting films, etc.
wire and cable
Due to its excellent filler inclusiveness and crosslinkability, EVA resin is widely used in halogen-free flame-retardant cables, semiconductor shielded cables, and two-step silane crosslinked cables. In addition, EVA resin is also used to make sheaths for some special cables. The EVA resin used in wires and cables generally has a vinyl acetate content of 12% to 24%.
hot melt adhesive
Hot melt adhesive mainly composed of EVA resin is very suitable for automated assembly line production due to its solvent-free nature, non polluting environment, and high safety. Therefore, it is widely used in wireless book binding, furniture edge sealing, assembly of automobiles and household appliances, shoe making, carpet coating, and metal anti-corrosion coating.
